Pearl Class is Tinsley Meadows’ PRU AP, which opened in September 2025.
Our principles
Each academy within our trust brings about effective and rapid solutions to local issues, supported by governance and leadership that meets the unique needs of every academy and every child.
The academy aims are centred on three core principles as follows:

The Trust is a leading example of excellence in many areas including EAL provision for new arrivals and advanced bilingual learners – achieving results for individual pupils that exceed expectations of these cohorts.
Our alternative provision
Pupil Referral Units: Alternative Provision.
Our PRU APs are The Burrow, based at Abbeyfield, and Pearl, based at Tinsley Meadows. They form part of the wider Five Rivers MAT family. We aim to deliver high quality, impactful, short term, full-time alternative provision to primary-aged children, based on Trauma Informed and Nurture principles. The intention of the service is to re-engage children who have been permanently excluded back into education; and to reintegrate pupils to an appropriate education setting so that they can feel that they belong in their school and community, helping them to achieve their potential.
